Hey John!
Madeleine here. I wanted to share with you what AB 540 means to me. For you, it may just be a collection of letters and numbers or yet another assembly bill, but for the thousands of undocumented young people in California like me, it represents critical access to education and opportunities.
That’s why we’re marking the 20 year anniversary of AB 540 with a conference and a call to action!
Whether you are a student, educator, practitioner, administrator, or a policy maker, join us to continue breaking new barriers for undocumented students in California.

Growing up undocumented, I thought the pathways to reaching my educational goals were closed off to me. AB 540 helped open up doors I thought weren’t even available to me because of my status. It showed me that college and other career goals were possible and I could achieve them. It’s what drives me to work with campuses across California to improve access, and it’s what leading me to organize the AB 540 conference.
I’m proud of how far AB 540 has taken me in my journey, and I’m excited to share these AB 540-themed digital frames with you!
If you’ve benefited from AB 540 or if you support AB 540, you can use these frames to show your support for expanding access. Check out how you can customize your frames here to show your support!
Thank you for all that you do for and with undocumented students,
Madeleine
