Biden Struggles in Polls as GOP Surges
The newest round of Quinnipiac polls has given President Biden his lowest marks yet across the board. Republicans, on the other hand, are increasingly seen as the best party to lead the country amid numerous crises both at home and abroad.
-
Overall, President Biden’s job approval has continued to sink. He now sits at just 38% approval with 53% disapproval - down from 42% and 50%, respectively, just 3 weeks ago.
-
The president is suffering on nearly every important issue as well. A majority of Americans significantly disapprove of his performance on the economy, taxes, foreign policy, immigration, the southern border crisis, and the military - to name a few.
-
Out of all of these issues, President Biden is performing most poorly with the American people on the southern border crisis. Just 23% approve of his handling of the issue while 67% disapprove.
-
As the president and his White House struggle to find support, Republicans are gaining increasing popularity. According to a new Gallup Poll,
“Americans by significant margins now view the Republican Party as better than the Democratic Party at protecting the nation from international threats (54% to 39%, respectively) and at ensuring the nation remains prosperous (50% to 41%).”
With the president failing on significant issues like Afghanistan, the resurgence in COVID-19, and the southern border crisis, it’s no wonder that Americans see the Republican Party as better than Democrats at defending the nation from outside threats and securing prosperity. These polling trends will likely continue as more Americans turn away from the president.

With Biden Missing at the Border, GOP Governors Take Action
As the southern border crisis remains out of control and the White House continues to do nothing, a group of Republican governors traveled there this week and outlined a comprehensive plan to actually fix it.
-
The situation at the border is dire, and Americans are fed up with President Biden. Significantly, 69% of Hispanic Americans disapprove of his handling of the crisis and 41% say he is “not aggressive enough” with deportations of illegal aliens.
-
While Texas is the center of the migrant crisis, it is just as bad elsewhere along the southern border. Gov. Doug Ducey warned that migrant incursions are just as ‘out of control’ in Arizona, where Border Patrol have encountered 1,038% more suspected illegal immigrants year-over-year in the state’s Yuma region:
“What's already happening in Yuma is reflective of what's happening on the Texas border. Arizona is a border state. We faced this before, but we've never faced a crisis this large in 21 years.”
-
In the absence of any federal solutions or leadership, 10 Republican governors traveled to the southern border this week and slammed President Biden while unveiling a 10-point plan to address the crisis.
-
The governors’ Joint Policy Framework consists of immediately actionable steps to curb migration and limit its damaging consequences. For example, these include dedicating resources to combat human and drug trafficking, resuming the deportation of criminal aliens, and re-entering all agreements with our Northern Triangle partners and Mexico.
States have been left to deal with an issue that is a federal responsibility, and while their GOP leaders are justifiably calling out the president, they are also taking important actions to curb these unprecedented rates of illegal migration themselves.

Economic Problems Burden Americans With Higher Costs
Inflation and worse-than-expected jobs numbers show that the U.S. economy’s comeback from COVID-19 is faltering, but that hasn’t stopped President Biden from pushing Congress to pass trillions of dollars in spending.
-
Rising inflation has translated into higher costs of living for average Americans, and many do not see an end in sight. For households earning the median income of around $70,000 a year, inflation has forced them to spend an extra $175 a month on food, fuel, and housing.
-
Gas prices, specifically, have risen to their highest level since 2014 amid global concerns about supply and increasing national demand.
-
Amid this rising inflation, the U.S. economy only added 194,000 jobs in September - a figure far below the expected number of 500,000. Nick Bunker, research director at Indeed: “This is quite a deflating report”
-
Meanwhile, President Biden is doing everything in his power to pass trillions in spending, despite Democratic infighting in Congress. RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel:
“Biden has already spent trillions on his left-wing laundry list. Now he’s looking to spend $3.5 trillion more. That’s the equivalent of $27,000 in new spending for every single household in America.”
As Americans struggle to keep up with rising prices across every major category, President Biden has remained determined to spend astronomical amounts of money and expand the federal government even further. As the Christmas season approaches, it is likely that costs will continue to increase and strain Americans’ wallets.
