Open this today -- it's time sensitive? ? ? ? ? BREAKING ? The White House has just announced a proposal to revoke parts of a Trump-era rule that completely gutted the implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), one of the most damaging and far-reaching environmental decisions of the Trump years.

This is huge. NEPA is the law that requires environmental impact studies for projects like pipelines, highways, and drilling on public lands ? and gives affected communities the chance to give input on these projects.

Friend ? there's a catch. The new announcement opens up a 45 day comment period, allowing corporate polluters a short window to derail the proposed rule. Every indication is that they're going to fight hard to make that happen.

The truth is ? it's going to come down to grassroots pressure. We're asking for your help to keep our campaigns going through the comment period ? and we've set a $50,000 fundraising goal to get there. So we're asking:

Please, triple your impact. Help restore these critical environmental review protections. Make a donation today so that we can go toe-to-toe with corporate polluters and their lobbyists. Even $5 helps ? [link removed]

Friend ? this comes on the heels of major announcements restoring protections to Bears Ears, Grand Staircase-Escalante and Northeast Canyons and Seamounts.

Indigenous communities, local leaders, and thousands of environmentalists and LCV supporters raised hell and demanded action ? and we won. We can do it again. But only if the environmental movement shows up in a major way.

When Trump gutted NEPA, it was a gut punch to low-wealth and communities of color, which too often bear the brunt of the burden imposed by pollution.

Biden's restoration of NEPA's environmental review and analysis of alternatives to the project will help give these and other marginalized communities a fighting chance to fight back against environmental racism and to protect their families and property. But more changes are needed to level the playing field.

Corporate polluters and their lobbyists are already pressuring the Biden-Harris administration to bring back the Trump-era rules that allowed hazardous projects to move forward without thorough environmental review or considering the impact on climate change.

We must make sure they don't succeed, friend.

Chip in now ? just $5 helps ? to help us fight back against corporate polluters and their lobbyists. A group of donors are tripling every contribution right now ? [link removed]

With Trump out of office, we are making great progress and are so close to winning historic commitments to fight climate change. We cannot afford to go backwards. Please, help us make these critical reforms a reality.

Give $5 today ? [link removed]

Thank you again for everything that you do.

Onward,
