Which Countries Are Providing Their Fair Share of Climate Finance? And Which Aren’t? 

Despite a collective commitment of $100 billion per year in climate finance to support developing countries, most large countries — including the United States, Australia and Canada — are not contributing their fair share. Many major economies have written big checks, but not in relation to their relative size and wealth. Unpacking these figures will be a key component to the upcoming climate summit in Glasgow. The State of Electric School Buses in the US 

Electrifying U.S. school buses is a big idea that would deliver big benefits to the climate, air and most importantly kids’ health. In fact, E-school buses could reduce greenhouse gas emissions from all buses in the country by about 50% and create new jobs, yet fewer than 1% of school buses on U.S. roads today are electric. In a recent article, WRI’s Leah Lazer and co-authors dig into the current state of play of electric school bus adoption and explore the potential behind new technology and funding. Read more.

World Food Day 2021: A Better Food System, Betters Lives 

"Our actions are our future” is the theme of this year’s World Food Day, held on Saturday, October 16. The theme hits the mark: Developing a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable global food and land use system is essential to feed the world’s population, reduce emissions and improve the resilience of communities around the world. This future is possible, but it requires all actors within the food system — heads of government, small and large companies, farmers, individuals and more — to do their part. Read more.
