MSNBC’s Joy Ann Reid just said that the South represents a major opportunity for Democrats to expand our majority in the U.S. Senate.

If we want to make sure Democrats have the numbers to defeat Mitch McConnell and Republicans’ obstructionism, we are going to have to win races in the South — including North Carolina’s open Senate seat.

This race in particular is a big deal — it could be the difference between implementing President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda or more Republican obstructionism. And Cheri is the candidate in this race with the experience and background to win statewide.

She said that “Black candidates bring a type of energy to democratic politics that you don't see or we haven't seen in a long time. They're able to galvanize the body politic and get people excited.”

That’s exactly right, John. Cheri has what it takes to get people energized and engaged in this election. In fact, it’s been a central part of how she’s won statewide twice before.
