Hi folks,
I’m Justin and I’m Michael’s campaign manager. This race has really ramped up so I wanted to reach out to you personally with an update on our path to victory. You’re a critical part of Michael’s team so I hope you’ll read through, then pitch in $10 before Saturday’s mid-month deadline to re-elect Michael to the Senate and keep Colorado blue.
WHERE WE ARE
Despite our slim Democratic majority and Mitch McConnell’s obstruction, Michael led the charge to expand the Child Tax Credit. The monthly payments helped one million Colorado children, kept three million children out of poverty nationally, and brought much-needed relief to parents. Now, Michael is determined to preserve this historic tax cut for lower- and middle-income families.
Michael secured a historic investment in broadband — the largest federal broadband investment in our nation’s history — in the bipartisan infrastructure bill. This investment will help Americans compete in the 21st century economy and bridge the digital divide in Colorado’s rural and Tribal communities.
Michael delivers for Coloradans. But while he’s fighting to make our economy work for everyone and combat climate change, far-right opponents are jumping into the race to defeat him…
THE STATE OF THIS RACE
Michael is excited to run on his record of delivering for working people, but he is facing attacks from all sides. The National GOP announced they raised $25 million last quarter to flip seats like Michael’s, and in the past month alone, three right-wing opponents launched their campaigns to defeat Michael.
- One is an insurrectionist who admitted to crossing the police line on January 6th, joked about lynching, defended the Three-Fifths Compromise, and has traveled the country in support of conspiracy theories about the 2020 election.
- The second is a wealthy Trump appointee who opposes the expanded Child Tax Credit, which has reduced financial anxiety and food insecurity for families as they continue to recover from the pandemic.
- The third is so wealthy that he already self-funded a quarter million dollars and hired top Trump consultants to run his campaign.
The GOP primary field is stacked with seven candidates ready to attack Michael to gain an edge in their race. Your support will help him fend off incoming attacks.
WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN
Michael is running a grassroots-driven campaign, folks. He doesn’t take donations from corporate PACs and federal lobbyists because that money often comes with strings attached and Michael answers to his constituents.
To win this race and keep Colorado blue, Michael’s campaign has to reach and mobilize voters across the state while battling attacks from Michael’s opponents, Mitch McConnell, and dark money groups. It’s expensive work and with the National GOP raking in millions and wealthy self-funded opponents jumping into the race, we can’t rest for a moment.
Michael is counting on your support so he can continue fighting for Coloradans in the Senate. Please pitch in $10 — or what works for your budget — before Saturday’s fundraising deadline.
