Ohio Governor Mike DeWine Week in Review

On *Monday,* Lt. Governor Jon Husted spoke at the Cleveland Clinics Healthcare CEO Summit during their Towards Healthier Healthcare: Innovation for Everyone segment. The Lt. Governor highlighted how the state is working to be a hub for innovation in every industry and to support innovative solutions to improve the lives of Ohioans and better the way the state serves its citizens through technology.

On *Tuesday*, Governor Mike DeWine attendedtwo separate events with members of his Lead Advisory Committee in recognition of National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. Governor DeWine and members of the Lead Advisory Committee, [ [link removed] ] a committee Governor DeWine established in mid-September, convened in both Cleveland and Toledo.

Later on*Tuesday*, Governor DeWine announced thatOhio is now offering $7.5 million in grant funding to support the expansion of specialized court programs that focus on recovery from substance use or mental health disorders.

Governor DeWine proposed the grants in March as part of his RecoveryOhio [ [link removed] ] initiative.

Also on *Tuesday*, Lt. Governor Husted traveled to the Ashbrook Center on the campus of Ashland University. He spoke as part of the Fall Major Issues Lecture Series and delivered a speech titled Remembering What Made America Great. The Lt. Governor talked about the political slogan and what he believes to be what was behind the countrys greatness, including the principles of Hard work, personal responsibility, family, faith, and freedom. On *Wednesday*, Governor DeWine met with more than 100 state and local elected officials and community leaders at the Residence to discuss the opioid settlement.

Also on *Wednesday*, Lt. Governor Husted, joined by Ohio Department of Transportation Director Dr. Jack Marchbanks celebrated the opening of Ohios first-ever SmartLane on Interstates 670 and 270 near downtown Columbus. The SmartLane is an initial pilot project to see if a technological solution can be implemented to ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents without incurring the expense of highway expansion projects.

On *Friday*, Governor DeWine signed Senate Bill 52, creating the Ohio Cyber Reserve within the Ohio Adjutant General's Department. The Ohio Cyber Reserve will assist eligible small governments impacted by cyberattacks.
