John, I was in Texas last week on America's southern border and wanted to give
you some updates.

 

While the media doesn't give it the same attention they did when President
Trump was building a wall and taking action to stem the flow of migrants, they
should be covering how bad things are down here right now.

 

The largest issue is that the Biden Administration doesn't seem to have any
policy other than to temporarily detain border crossers and then release them
into the country, hoping they'll show up at a later court date when
historically, most don't.

 

This isn't a policy that is sustainable or healthy for America. And it impacts
us here in Ohio because it's not just people who are crossing that border -
it's fentanyl and other drugs that kill thousands of Ohioans every year.

You may not know this but more than 100 members of Ohio's National Guard have
been deployed to the southern border for nearly a year as Ohio is doing our
part to help support the border patrol's efforts.

 

I am so proud of the men and women who are down here serving every day to keep
us safe and improve this situation. Now, it's up to the Biden Administration to
do their part and take this issue seriously.
