John,
A documentary that featured our 2018 Congressional race, alongside the campaigns of AOC, Amy Vilela, and Paula Jean Swearengin, is up for three Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards. I’m honored to have been a part of something that’s already won several festival awards and is now up for the Critics’ Choice Best Documentary award.
I’m even more honored to have been part of a woman-directed effort that has drawn the public’s attention to our grassroots, progressive movement—a movement that aims to take big money out of politics and put governance in the hands of the people. This recognition shows our movement has traction and that people are interested in what we’re trying to accomplish.
We’re proud of the headway we made in 2018, but we’re back to finish the job and build on the momentum we grew last year. The decades-long leadership of an entrenched dynasty has grown stagnant and increasingly beholden to Big Money interests. In contrast, I’m a fearless and bold advocate for change who refuses corporate PAC and special interest money in a 100% grassroots, people-driven campaign.
Right now, this country needs fearless and bold leaders who fight for change and who won’t back down. I’ve never backed down, not even when I’ve come face-to-face with the institutionalized racism, sexism, misogyny, inequality, and corruption that keeps power in the hands of the few, not the many. I’ve always fought for what’s right, and that won’t change in D.C.
Help us create a government that’s for us, by us.
I’m up for the fight. Are you?
In solidarity,
Cori
