Nothing more frustrating than being “open” within shooting range and the “ball hog” on the court won’t pass the ball. This couldn’t be more true of the Smart-Ass White Boys of the Democratic party. That’s why we need a new game plan.

It is not enough to put people of color on your team. You must give them the ball. Chip in today to help power up PowerPAC and lift up communities of color. 

There are so many skilled players. Whether it is the movement leadership in Georgia that won back the Senate. The community of color leadership in AZ, MI, PA, and WI that paved the way for the Presidential win. The teams that flipped so many congressional seats in California. It’s time to pass the ball to them. 

Heading into a midterm election, historically, is a huge challenge for the Dems after winning the Presidential. But in 2018 leadership of color brought about a “Blue Wave'' across the country. Yes, it was partly a reaction to the Trump election. But the reality is Trump has not left and it will be the inspiration, outrage, and mobilization of communities of color that can save the day in 2022.

So, it is time for the Dems to pass the ball. They need to invest in communities of color voter registration and mobilization. They need to lift leadership of color and not keep investing in the Smart-Ass White Boys dominated political consulting industry. Progressive donors and Party institutions need to invest and build the political professional of color roster. Until there is serious investment there will be no change.
