Dear John,
As I look back over the last three quarters of the year, I am amazed by all the people the Pacific Justice Institute has been able to help through your generous support.

We are handling more case matters across the country than any other organization of our kind.

At Pacific Justice Institute, we have the largest attorney network in the country with hundreds of attorneys nationwide, giving us tremendous leverage in our litigation budget.

And this is crucial because we have seen a 600% increase in our cases.

Here’s an update on a few important cases that we’re actively working on, right now.

Gregg Crawford v Trader Joe’s
Despite having been granted a PJI-brokered religious accommodation, Gregg Crawford was told in August that only vaccinated employees would be allowed to attend a required Trader Joe’s management meeting. PJI then sent a letter to Trader Joe’s, stating that it was discriminatory to block Crawford from the meeting because he was not vaccinated — and suggested he attend either in-person after getting tested for the virus, or via Zoom.

Crawford then got an email from Trader Joe’s general counsel saying that he would get a summary of the relevant information from the meeting and that his vaccination status wouldn’t be the basis for any negative performance evaluation. Shortly thereafter, Crawford was told he was being fired from Trader Joe’s.

Our suit contends that Gregg’s religious beliefs were a motivating factor in his termination and we will fight Trader Joe’s all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary.

Would you consider coming alongside us financially and giving a generous donation? Whether large or small, your gift helps to ensure our mission continues.

The School District of Palm Beach County (FL)
We filed a lawsuit recently against the School District of Palm Beach County (SDPBC) for its unlawful facial covering policy, on behalf of 35 parents and 38 children. The facial covering policy violates the parents' primary right to direct the upbringing of their children, the children’s fundamental right to privacy, and ignores how facial coverings have harmed many of the children (causing anxiety, breathing difficulties, etc...).

Without question, SDPBC is breaching parents’ rights by its continued unwillingness to comply with Florida law and in court, our PJI Florida attorney will hold SDPBC accountable for its actions on behalf of all of Florida’s parents and students.

The City of Los Angeles
We represent six Los Angeles police officers and are suing the city of Los Angeles and the LAPD.  We will show that its vaccine mandate is unconstitutional and violates federal and California law.

We are asking the court to issue a temporary restraining order and preliminary and permanent injunction in response to the city’s new ordinance, arguing it violates the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the California Constitution, the Supremacy Clause, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Interestingly, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti warned those seeking exemptions that the city “will not tolerate the abuse of these exemptions by those who simply don’t want to get vaccinated.”

These cases, while very important, are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of all PJI is doing to defend individual religious freedom, civil liberties, and parental rights, all around the country.

The need for our expertise has never been greater than it is today.  Although PJI has never, and will never, charge clients for our services, counsel, and defense doesn’t come free, and we want to continue to help as many people as we possibly can. I thank you in advance for your generous donation to ensure PJIs critical mission continues.
