Black History tube map

TfL has teamed up with Black Cultural Archives to launch the first ever Black History Tube map, celebrating the rich and varied contribution Black people have made to London and the UK from pre-Tudor times to the present day.

The reimagined map, replaces station names across the iconic Tube map with notable Black people from history, with the associated Tube lines renamed to link them together by common themes - Firsts and Trailblazers; Georgians; Sports; Arts; LGBTQ+; Physicians; Performers; Literary World and Community Organisers.

Tackling poverty in London event

London Councils and the 4 in 10 child poverty campaign are hosting an event today to mark London Challenge Poverty Week 2021: ‘National problem, local solutions: Tackling poverty in the London boroughs’.

Local authorities have a crucial role to play in tackling poverty and this event aims to shine a spotlight on some of the excellent work that is going on within boroughs.

The event is chaired by Cllr Muhammed Butt, London Councils’ Executive Member for Welfare, Empowerment & Inclusion.

Retrofit London Launch

Retrofit London is one of London Councils’ flagship climate change programmes, led by the London boroughs of Enfield and Waltham Forest, together with support from the London Housing Directors’ Group, BEIS, Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, GLA, G15, London First and others.

At this online-only event, we will be setting out how the Retrofit London Housing Action Plan can meet our ambitious goal to get all homes in London to an average of EPC B by 2030, and discussing some of the major challenges with key partners.

The event will be held online on Tuesday 26 October at 9.30am - 11.00am.
