Dear Subscriber,

It is our policy to provide quarterly financial reports to you as part of our promise to be transparent about our funding sources.

This is our first quarter report, which covers our funding sources and individual contributions from July 1, 2019, to September 30, 2019.

FactCheck.org was originally funded by a founding grant from the Annenberg Foundation, but those funds are nearly exhausted. We increasingly rely on individual donations to supplement our finances and continue our work.

We received $11,580 in individual donations in the first quarter of fiscal year 2020.

Thank you for your donations, which help us extend the life of FactCheck.org.

If you would like to make a donation, please visit our “Donate” page, where you can contribute via credit card. If you prefer to give by check, send to:

FactCheck.org is a project of the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Public Policy Center, so your contribution is deductible from U.S. federal income taxes to the full extent allowed by law.

Below you will find our quarterly report disclosing cash support for the three-month period ending September 30, 2019. This and previous reports can be found on our website.

We do not seek and have never accepted, directly or indirectly, any funds from unions, partisan organizations or advocacy groups. We do not accept funds from corporations with the exception of Facebook, which provides funding as part of Facebook’s initiative to debunk viral deceptions circulating on the social media site. Facebook has no control over our editorial decisions.

Our policy is to disclose the identity of any individual donor giving $1,000 or more. We also disclose the total amount, average amount and number of individual donations.

In addition to the sums reported here, FactCheck.org receives in-kind support from the Annenberg Public Policy Center including some infrastructure costs as well as supervisory, technical, and administrative support from APPC faculty and staff. We do not attempt to assign a dollar value to these in-kind services, which are funded from the APPC’s own resources.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Eugene Kiely

Director, FactCheck.org
