Hi, all!

As the newest addition to the DPVA’s Digital Team (and as one of the people behind these emails), I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and share why this year’s election is important to me.

As a current journalism and political science student at Virginia Commonwealth University, you can probably (correctly) guess that I am heavily invested in both national and state politics.

However, this wasn’t always the case for me. To be frank, as a teenager, I couldn’t care less about politics.

It wasn’t until the 2016 election where I started to pay attention and discover what my values were for the first time in my life. I didn’t know much at 16-years-old, but I did know one thing— Donald Trump and his values absolutely did not align with mine.

Coming of age alongside Donald Trump’s presidency was a unique experience—and for me, this meant morphing from a politically apathetic teenager into a passionate, educated voter.

Today, this means interning at the DPVA & making an effort to vote in November— to keep people like Glenn Youngkin and his Trumpian ideology out of office. Today that means reaching out to folks like you and asking for your support.

I urge you all to do something to make your own voices heard before November’s election. You are one of our strongest supporters—and Election Day will be here before we know it. We need your help.

Can I count on you to chip in $10 or $25 to help keep Democrats in office in January and help the Democratic Party of Virginia fully fund our mobilization operations?
