We want to make sure you saw this: Mikie was on the front page of The New York Times for her efforts to provide access to affordable childcare to families across the country and help working parents rejoin the labor force.
“Ms. Sherrill successfully amended the House’s version of the Build Back Better Act to do the opposite of what Mr. Manchin is demanding on a centerpiece of the bill: a childcare subsidy to help parents get back to work in a pandemic-ravaged economy.”
- The New York Times
Mikie is a working mom of four, so she knows all families need access to affordable childcare -- not just a select few. She won’t back down until all New Jersey families are included in this critical piece of legislation.
That’s why Mikie successfully fought to include an amendment to make sure no family has to pay more than 7% of their annual income on childcare, rejecting a means-testing approach that would leave out New Jersey families.
Mikie always has our back in Congress. Now, we need to have hers to make sure she can keep fighting for New Jersey families in the House. If you’re able to chip in a few dollars today, it would make a big difference in strengthening Mikie’s re-election campaign. [[link removed]]
