John -- I want to update you about where we are in the fight for fair maps, and why I’ll be asking for a donation today.

A number of states are producing fair maps -- for example, Oregon's congressional map was recently signed into law, and reflects the state’s diverse communities, preserves a competitive seat, and shows that public input was considered. The NDRC community helped make that happen, and I want to celebrate those victories.

But many challenges remain, especially in critical, seat-rich states. Republicans in Georgia and Texas have released gerrymandered congressional maps that could potentially tilt the balance of power in the U.S. House of Representatives. And Republicans in North Carolina and Florida are making it difficult for citizens to weigh in on redistricting.

The bottom line is that we need you more than ever to help us keep fighting. Can I count on you, as a top supporter from DC, to donate to the NDRC today?

We have a lot of work ahead of us. But I'm proud of everything we're doing in the states and at the federal level.

Senate Democrats' new voting rights legislation, the Freedom to Vote Act, would end partisan gerrymandering for congressional districts. And considering that 19 states have passed voter suppression laws in 2021, getting this bill to President Biden's desk couldn't be more important. To that end, the NDRC has launched a six-figure ad campaign in support of this legislation.

John, campaigns like this and our work on the ground in states across the country take resources. Supporters like you have always been there in the past when we've asked, and today, in the middle of the redistricting process that will impact our democracy for the next decade, I'm asking again:

Can I count on you for a donation to help the NDRC keep fighting for fairness in our elections? >>>[link removed]

Thank you for everything,
Eric H. Holder, Jr.

Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters.
