Hi John,

It’s been nearly six months since Gov. Tony Evers nominated Sharon Adams and Sandy Naas to sit on Wisconsin’s Natural Resources Board. Wisconsin senate leadership still hasn’t scheduled a vote on their confirmation. Adams and Naas would bring decades of conservation-focused leadership to the Natural Resources Board. We need the senate to do its job and vote to confirm them.

Would you contact your state senator and ask them to confirm these two highly qualified conservation leaders?

Adams co-founded the Walnut Way Conservation Corp in 2000, a community development nonprofit focused on reclaiming and redeveloping the economic health and vitality of Milwaukee’s Lindsay Heights neighborhood. In 2015, Adams formed HN Development, that focuses on residential and commercial real estate development anchored in environmental stewardship. She has also advised the UW-Madison College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the City of Milwaukee on policies that impact natural resources.

Naas would bring over 30 years of conservation experience to the Natural Resources Board. A teacher at Ashland High School in agricultural and natural resources, Naas also owns and works as a natural resources scientist at Stable Solutions. Her background threads through a wide variety of Northern Wisconsin environmental spaces, including the Bayfield County Conservation Congress, the Bayfield County Deer Advisory, JZ Environmental, and the Ashland County Land and Water Conservation Department.

It is past time for the Wisconsin senate to do its job. Will you contact your state senator and ask them to vote on and confirm Sharon Adams and Sandy Naas?

In the face of daunting threats to our drinking water and climate, we need Sharon Adams and Sandy Naas’s expertise on the Natural Resources Board.

Thanks for being a conservation voter,
Peter Burress
