**DHS's Worksite Enforcement Update a Positive Step**
**WASHINGTON, D.C.**- Today the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
announced updates to worksite immigration enforcement.
In addition to ending large immigration enforcement operations at
worksites, today's memo directs DHS agencies to focus its limited
resources on bad-actor employers who take advantage of immigrant
workers, including by not adhering to employment and labor standards.
The announcement and memo are available here
.
"To move away from large-scale worksite raids and focus on targeting
exploitative employers is a step in the right direction," said
**Ali Noorani, President and CEO of the National Immigration Forum**.
"The guidance is also strong in its emphasis on protecting workers who
are victims of trafficking and exploitation.
"American workers - and law-abiding employers - benefit when
enforcement targets bad actors."
