Team, our fight to save the United States Postal Service is far from over.
Last week, Aaron joined a coalition of 20 Attorneys Generals in filing a complaint against the United States Postal Office. The complaint demands a review of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's proposed 10-year plan to cut critical services at the Postal Service.
This plan is merely the latest proposal from Trump's appointed Postmaster that would damage the nation's postal service. It would make significant changes to the critical services we rely on without first obtaining an advisory opinion from the Postal Regulatory Commission. Federal law requires the Postal Service to go to the Commission whenever it makes a change to postal services that will affect the entire country.
This pandemic has shown us how critical the postal service truly is. Over the past year, millions of people have used the mail to refill their medication, shop for medical supplies, keep in touch with loved ones, and vote without sacrificing their safety. We should be doing everything we can to protect and adequately fund the USPS. Instead, Louis DeJoy is doing everything in his power to destroy it. It's past time we remove DeJoy before he can do even more damage.
We can't continue to watch Postmaster General DeJoy make reckless changes to the postal service. We need to fight back disastrous service cuts and protect the service millions of Americans count on every day. Thanks for speaking up,
Team Ford
