Team,
Former President Trump spent his four years in the White House working with Congressional Republicans to undo the Affordable Care Act (ACA) at every turn. And on this day in 2017, Trump signed an executive order that attempted to undercut the ACA.
Despite Trump and National Republican efforts, Chris and his colleagues in the House have defended the ACA, and today millions of Americans still have health insurance through it. This year alone 2.8 million Americans gained coverage through the special enrollment period with 12.2 million Americans enrolled in total.
Make no mistake: National Republicans are still set on dismantling the ACA and ripping health care away from millions of Americans. Add your name if you're with Chris in the fight to protect and expand affordable health care for Americans.
The Affordable Care Act is an important reminder of why every election is important. If we hadn't won the House majority in 2018 and held it in 2020, we wouldn't have been able to stop National Republicans from dismantling the ACA.
But we still have work ahead to build upon the Affordable Care Act to lower health care costs and guarantee all Americans have access to the health care they need. Chris will always fight to protect Americans' health care and to ensure affordable health care for all, but he needs to know you have his back.
Add your name if you believe that health care should be affordable and accessible for all.
Thank you,
Team Pappas
