On National Indigenous People’s Day we honor our connections to the land and earth!

** “For generations, Federal policies systematically sought to assimilate and displace Native people and eradicate Native cultures,” Mr. Biden wrote in the proclamation issued on Friday. “Today, we recognize Indigenous peoples’ resilience and strength as well as the immeasurable positive impact that they have made on every aspect of American society.”
------------------------------------------------------------

“Not all states have accepted Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and some members of Indigenous communities say recognizing the day does not go far enough. It is not yet a federal holiday, though there is a bill in Congress that proposes to make it one. Here’s more background.”

Myself and my staff understand the importance of renaming monuments and landmarks honoring the history and contribution of Native Americans.

Part of becoming a truthful, open, trusting, and inclusive society involves acknowledging our history and the wrongs of past generations and our own. Many of these policies put in place have systemically dismantled and prevented investment and oppressed opportunity in Native American communities.

As we build the Nation back better, creating opportunity through infrastructure investment in underserved communities must be a central tenant in our efforts. A just transition with opportunity that honors ALL of our communities contributions is just around the corner! ([link removed])

I know that the Country that I fought for is not dead! I know that a more fair, free, just, and equatable society can emerge from the struggles of today. I know, that we as a Nation honor the service, sacrifice, and contribution of our Native American brothers, sisters, and siblings. Their heroism and contribution to the existence of American Democracy today cannot be overstated.

Together we can remove Ken Buck’s corruption and divisive influence from the US House, honor the contributions of ALL of our citizens, and address the existential environmental crisis with ALL of government solution sets. ([link removed])

The contributions of Native American communities in the fight for: climate justice, clean air, clean land, and clean water cannot be overstated!

Honoring the contributions of our Native American citizens includes addressing the acute lack of access to medical facilities and care in Native American communities. The pandemic has exposed the critical lack of access to mental health services and medical care. As a combat veteran I know the importance of mental healthcare. The Native American community was hit particularly hard by the pandemic. Instituting a system that removes profiteering from our healthcare system and provides healthcare to every American is a critical need and a primary legislative goal.

Take a moment to reflect on and appreciate the contributions of Native Americans to our story!

The environmental crisis is man made and it is happening now. Extinction rates are 40 % above historical norms and there is 43% more carbon dioxide in the air, in the atmosphere, than at any point in human history. ([link removed])

Buck says climate change is theoretical. We need representation that will honor and protect the Earth for future generations! I will build the coalition in Congress needed to Congressionally designate climate change as the paramount National Security Threat of the day. I will ensure with the help of my colleagues that Congress will execute its responsibilities of oversight and ensure that the Department of Defense and National resources are focused on preventing further destruction of the biosphere. I will ensure that the department of defense is assigned priority mission sets addressing their role in and solutions to the crisis at hand.

We must come together like never before and unite the tribes of the earth to save the human species from itself. ([link removed])
