This time last month, my team and I were helping our neighbors and communities repair and rebuild from Hurricane Ida’s destruction.

When I hear about the GOP gerrymandering districts and creating voter suppression laws ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, I hardly get disheartened because I believe the majority of voters prefer justice and democracy. The key is making sure they go out and vote.

The best way to win elections is by mobilizing a grassroots coalition. The GOP will continue resorting to division and dark-money donations, but it’s only because they don’t think they can win on their own accord.

We defeated them in 2020 and we’ll do it again in 2022. But we need to be building momentum now since every seat counts with the Senate split 50-50, and Senate Republicans just raised $25 million in the last quarter alone.
