Folks,

People have been speculating about the negative effects of Facebook and other social media platforms for years -- most recently, pointing out that misinformation spread on Facebook can be directly linked to the insurrection that took place at our nation’s Capitol on January 6th.

And now thanks to former Facebook employee turned-whistleblower Frances Haugen, we have proof that Facebook products “harm children, stoke division, and weaken our democracy” -- based on their own internal research.

Congress has a responsibility to regulate these platforms and make sure they do not cause further harm to the American people or our democracy -- will you sign on today to call on Congress to regulate Facebook?

This research is unsurprising to Sean, but he and Haugen agree that the problems Facebook and other social media sites pose can be mitigated by federal regulations -- such as measures to combat misinformation.
