About this Event
Training ministers in today's Anglican Communion includes theological and practical challenges and opportunities. Add on top of that a health pandemic, societal upheaval and change, increasing online and distance learning, and the rise of bivocational ministry, and one may well ask:
What is the state of theological education today? And where are we going?
Join the CEEP Network and the Living Church Institute in a conversation with three cutting-edge leaders in theological education to discuss:
* What's the "state of the union" of theological education?
* What are our biggest challenges and opportunities?
* How are things taking shape post-pandemic?
* How is education taking shape in diverse settings? In established seminaries vs. "ministry school" models?
* How can theological education go beyond the walls of institutions?
* What might future "out of the box" educational options look like, for seminarians as well as lay leaders, and clergy looking for continuing ed opportunities?
Panelists include:
* Stewart Clem - Assistant Professor of Moral Theology and Director of the Ashley-O’Rourke Center for Health Ministry Leadership; Aquinas Institute of Theology; St. Louis, Missouri
* Elisabeth Rain Kincaid - Assistant Professor of Ethics and Moral Theology, Nashotah House Theological Seminary; Nashotah, Wisconsin
* Hannah Matis - Associate Professor of Church History; Virginia Theological Seminary; Alexandria, Virginia
* Joey Royal - Suffragan Bishop, Diocese of the Arctic; Director of the Arthur Turner Training School; Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada
