I'm about to hop back in the car and head to Tallahassee for our second committee week preparing for the 2022 Legislative Session.
Here's a few legislative ideas I'm working on this week:
🐟 A clean water bill to help reduce septic system runoff, Red Tide, and other toxic algae blooms.
🚧 An electric vehicle charging infrastructure bill to help us keep up with road and bridge infrastructure in a post gas-tax economy.
🤱 A bill that eliminates the sales tax on diapers to help low-income moms.
👮 [[link removed]] Smart criminal justice reforms and prison funding that fixes the crisis inside our state prisons.
☀️ A Brownfield to Brightfield bill that identifies unusable land for homes and agriculture and helps incentivize solar and wind energy installations.
🌿 A cannabis bill that delivers patient improvements while keeping marijuana out of the hands of kids.
💜 A mental healthcare bill to help school counselors focus on helping their students.
🌇 A bill responding to the Surfside building collapse that identifies structural engineers and keeps our buildings safer.
🦽 [[link removed]] Appropriations for wounded warriors and Floridians with amputations and disabilities.
🏡 [[link removed]] Support for Habitat for Humanity to build more affordable housing here in Brandon & Riverview.
💂♂️ Veterans owned business & cyber security startup aid to help small businesses get off the ground.
🚌 Aid for HART to expand bus access to Brandon (we have one bus) with a new maintenance facility.
Of course, you can always count on me to be in the fight on the hot-button-issues that will get thrown at us over the next few months. But, I'm doing what y'all elected me to do, move the ball down the field on meaningful issues that will make life here in Florida better. If you have any thoughts on any of these, let me know!
Despite our good work, the Republicans still have us as their #1 target for this next election so, if you want to support my work and keep me here, here's a donation link. Thank you!
