Friends, Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! Today we celebrate and honor the Indigenous people of America. It’s also a very special day for me and my family. I was very fortunate to have such a loving and kind mother who celebrated her Yaqui traditions with me while I was growing up. Throughout American history, Native Americans have gone unrecognized and under-appreciated. Today is about acknowledging that we can’t let that happen anymore. Native communities are sacred, and here in Colorado, a number of Indigenous tribes call this land home. In the New 8th District, we're on Arapahoe and Cheyenne land. It’s important that we remember that every day, but especially today. As citizens of both Colorado and America, let’s pledge to acknowledge the contributions of the Indigenous people and do our best to support them! Yours truly, Chaz Chaz's story starts right here in a foster home in Colorado. Join Chaz in his campaign for Congress in Colorado’s new 8th Congressional District.
