Last month, a near-total ban on abortion went into effect in Texas.

The anti-choice conservative Republicans thought the pushback would only last a few days or weeks, but they were wrong.

Since then, grassroots supporters from across the country have banded together to show that you will not stand for such a vile attack on women’s rights. Early this month, activists marched in opposition to anti-choice legislation across the country, and the legal battles for our rights have already begun.

As far-right lawmakers across the nation wage an all-out assault against reproductive rights, I proudly voted to defend every woman’s basic health freedoms.

With the Women’s Health Protection Act, Congress is taking a critical step to combat these dangerous attacks by enshrining the constitutional protections of Roe v. Wade into law. The facts are clear: the American people overwhelmingly support access to safe, affordable reproductive care for all – and I am proud to stand with them in this fight.
