John,
This Indigenous People’s Day we’re thinking of our Indigenous family in Minnesota. Just last week, Line 3 was declared fully operational.
For years, Indigenous people have been leading the resistance movement against the construction of Line 3.
This tar sands crude oil pipeline violates the treaty rights of the Anishinaabe by endangering their areas of hunting, fishing, cultivation, and culture. It’s estimated that this pipeline will produce the pollution equivalent of 50 coal power plants and plow through over 800 wetlands and 200+ bodies of water.
That’s why Cori traveled to Minnesota recently to show her support for our comrades in Minnesota and help contribute to a last big push to stop the construction of Line 3. We’re disappointed in this outcome, but we refuse to quit pushing for the protections and legislation Indigenous communities deserve.
Thank you for your support,
Team Cori
