I'm going to tell you a little secret, John.

I still have my baby teeth.

Okay, it’s just two baby teeth, but now I have your attention. Luckily for me, I have good dental insurance that will cover any issues that arise if/when my baby teeth fall out or, I think, get dislodged? Unclear what the process is but that’s not important.

What is important is that 82 million Americans are expected to be without dental coverage this year. It’s one of those not-super-sexy-but-absolutely-super-important issues that we’ve got to fix, because oral hygiene is often an indicator of deeper health issues (I sound like my dentist now but it’s true!).

Every American should have access not only to affordable dental insurance, but vision, hearing, and, obviously, full medical coverage. Help send me to Congress so we can make that a reality! [link removed]

Unfortunately and unsurprisingly, the American Dental Association is doing everything in their power to stop Democrats from expanding Medicare dental coverage in the Build Back Better plan.

As things currently stand, Medicare dental coverage is extremely limited. Including dental, vision and hearing benefits in Medicare will provide needed care to the 60 million older and disabled Americans who otherwise might not afford it.

Expanded medical benefits should be easy for anyone to get behind, but goes to show just how messed up our system is when lobbyists and special interest groups have as much power as they do.

One thing is for sure — Eddie Geller will not be bought by those special interest groups. I’m running for Congress to help people, and you better believe that includes providing affordable accessible health, dental, vision, and hearing benefits to every American. Chip in a buck to two to help us do it!
