This week is one of the busiest weeks for tackling residents? issues and concerns, as there are four Days of Action taking place in neighbourhoods. Partners including the council will be tackling problems in the following wards:
- Castle
- Radford
- Hyson Green and Arboretum
- Lenton and Wollaton East.
A series of Days of Action are taking place across Nottingham over the year with ten already completed. Partners across the city are joining forces to tackle issues in local areas, including crime, anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping and dog fouling. Each area?s day is designed to tackle issues arising from feedback from local people about issues in their neighbourhoods and what they want partners to focus on.
Some areas may have special activity depending on residents? concerns, but residents can expect patrols and operations to tackle:
- Bins and rubbish on streets
- Fly-tipping and dog fouling
- Car idling and inconsiderate parking
- Street deep cleans and community litter picks
- Crime patrols by Nottinghamshire Police
- Fire safety advice from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service
- Engagement activity from Nottingham City Homes
- Rented property inspections.
Feedback and attendance at these Days of Action so far have been great and I would encourage residents to keep an eye out for when we are next in your neighbourhood.

We know how important it is that our vulnerable residents have the care and support they need in their own homes ? especially during autumn and winter. Which is why we are joining forces with homecare providers across the city to help recruit people to provide that much needed support. Local homecare providers have open positions in homecare available now, with full pay, work close to home, flexible hours and training and opportunities for people to progress their career within the sector. Could you or someone you know provide this valuable support?
To find out more about care worker roles at local providers please visit www.nottinghamjobs.com/pathwayshsc, email? [email protected] or call 0115 876 4508 or 07929726449. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to care for others.
The rallying call for homecare workers is part of the council?s Pathway to Health and Social (PHSC) programme, which aims to ensure there are enough carers for over the winter months. Pathways to Health and Social Care is part funded by Nottingham City Council and the European Union through the European Social Fund (ESF).
