Run for Something

Hi there --

After 2018, we asked our candidates: What was it about Run for Something that made it possible for you to run? And over and over again, they told us the answer was connections.

It's tough to be a local candidate, especially one who wasn't handpicked by the state party. You're out there knocking doors for hours, often after working a 9-5 job. You're talking to voters who have never heard of you and might not even know there's an election coming up, let alone want to think about who they'll be voting for. The thing that makes knocking on doors for your city council campaign in a rainy Virginia suburb is knowing that up in New Jersey, someone else is doing the same thing.

Okay, we said. We can do even more of that. So we have: when a candidate is endorsed by Run for Something, they become instantly connected to hundreds of other candidates to talk through field plans, policy issues, and just straight up things they want to vent about -- all at no cost to them.

We're not just working with candidates most folks wouldn't have considered -- we're working smarter. But running this program isn't free, or even close to free. Help cover the costs of our communication tools and more with a donation today, if you can.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
