Dear ,

At national parks across the country, this has been a summer unlike any other. Park rangers and staff welcomed millions of visitors... while working hard to protect the parks themselves from extreme storms, flooding and wildfires driven by a changing climate.

But park rangers and other staff are going to see many more summers like this one. That's why it's so important that the U.S. Senate steps up now to make sure parks are ready for the future.

Take action and tell your U.S. senators that the Senate's new spending bills must fund park protection! Supporting park rangers and staff starts with making sure they have the tools to do their jobs.

For years, park budgets failed to keep up with the influx of visitors and the deterioration of trails, buildings, signs and even basic infrastructure like water pipes and restrooms. And now park staff must be ready for more record-breaking storms, floods and fires.

But new spending bills in the Senate could send help -- and fast -- by providing funding to:

- Hire more park personnel to protect park resources and help visitors experience parks safely.

- Bring in experts and scientists to assess how climate change could damage parks -- and figure out how to protect them.

- Restore, repair and protect historic structures to keep them safe from a changing climate.

- Launch a modern Civilian Climate Corps to create jobs and bring younger, more diverse people into careers protecting parks and public lands -- while tackling some of the most important conservation challenges of the decade.

The Senate's spending bills are almost finished -- but if enough park advocates speak out right now, we can make sure that those bills include strong commitments to park staff and the special places we all treasure.

Send a message to your senators now and make sure they know how much people in their state care about protecting parks in the new spending bills!

Thank you for all that you do for our parks and communities,

John Garder
