In a few moments, I am going to ask you to make a donation to my Senate campaign in North Carolina. We have a really important end-of-month fundraising deadline coming up next week, and I want to explain why this is such an important moment for our growing campaign.

Political corruption is running rampant in Washington. In the Senate, nothing is being done on the issues that matter to working families -- from protecting our environment to lowering the cost of health care to building an economy that works for everyone. Nothing.

All the while, establishment politicians like Mitch McConnell and our opponent, Senator Thom Tillis, are filling their campaign coffers with dirty money instead of doing their jobs.

The most important task we have to accomplish over the next year is to take back the Senate and remove the likes of McConnell and Tillis from office. Then, we can get back to the business of doing right by folks who deserve a government that is working for them, not corporate special interests.

That’s why I’m refusing any contributions from corporate PACs who fuel the corruption in our government. So, I’m asking for yours.
