Today, we celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day by honoring the culture and traditions of New Mexico’s tribal communities. Our state’s multicultural identity is inseparable from our Indigenous brothers and sisters’ rich legacy and heritage.
We must also acknowledge the history and important contributions of Native people in New Mexico. Their voices continue to make a difference in our communities and across the nation.
It’s critical that Native communities have a direct say in our democracy. DPNM's Tribal Outreach Organizer is collaborating with the DPNM Rural Caucus, rural counties, and stakeholders across the state to host a Rural Summit in December to discuss and highlight rural issues, Native American outreach, natural resources, and the economy -- while finding new ways we can work together towards creating positive change for our communities.
Our Tribal Outreach Organizer is working continuously with the Native American Democratic Caucus on organizing around key issues in tribal communities.
The NADCNM is dedicated to increasing the political participation of Native American individuals and inviting new members into the Party who are looking to make a difference in their communities.
Preparation and planning for next year’s cycle are already underway. Our Party is uplifting younger voices in tribal communities and providing them with the training and support they need to champion the issues that matter most to the tribal communities of New Mexico.
We’re looking forward to ensuring that our young people continue to thrive and lead their tribal communities into prosperity.
