Friend,
We’re collecting necessary supplies to assemble backpacks for children and teens in the justice system, and we need your help.
|
Young people in Maryland’s justice system represent some of the most vulnerable children in our society, and are often treated as disposable. Although we know poverty and desperation are huge drivers of crime, young people in the juvenile justice system are often moved into shelters or released from detention with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. This drive aims to provide children and teens in the juvenile justice system with a backpack full of basic essentials and comfort items to make their transitions just a little bit easier and more dignified.
We’re hoping to assemble as many backpacks as we can for young people in Maryland’s justice system, which is where you come in! Visit the wish list to purchase items here.
|
We will collect the items, assemble the backpacks, and then give them directly to the young people who need them. If you have any questions or want to support the drive in another way, please email [email protected].
Please share this email with your family and friends so we can reach our goal! Thank you for your support.
