Hi John,
Greenpeace activists just shutdown Downing Street with an oil soaked statue of Prime Minister Boris Johnson that he can’t ignore.
Johnson likes to talk of himself as a “climate leader” and we all know he'd just love to have a monument in his honour some day, so we gave him the statue he deserves - one dripping in oil. The Prime Minister has announced his support for the development of the Cambo oil field and 16 other climate destroying oil projects. In recent weeks the gas price crisis has shown us how vulnerable our dependency on fossil fuels is making us. The solution to the energy price crisis and climate crisis is the same - a just transition to sustainable renewable energy. Granting new oil and gas projects won’t do anything to ease these crises in the short term and will only lead to more climate devastation. [1] [2] We can’t accept this.
If we flood the Prime Minister's social media then he won’t be able to ignore us. Will you tweet Boris Johnson to let him know we won’t accept this and demand he makes the right decision for our planet and stop Cambo oil field and all new North Sea oil and gas projects?

Not on Twitter? Can you share with five friends?
This summer we’ve seen the devastating reality of the climate crisis, forest fires and floods have swept across Europe. [3] But the UK government is still looking to approve new oil fields. Experts across the world have said there must be no new fossil fuel projects to stay below the global warming limit of 1.5 degrees and opposition to the new oil field has grown across the country. Just weeks before the COP26 climate talks, Boris Johnson has tied himself to another new oil project which threatens the future of the planet.
With humanity on code red we must act now, every tweet sent today will let the Prime Minister know that he can’t make this reckless decision and he must stop Cambo from going ahead and instead support a just transition for oil workers into renewable energy. Please tweet now.
