Hello

With climate change threatening our very future, why is the Government considering making it cheaper to fly from Manchester to London, or London to Edinburgh?

Domestic flights are a climate disaster, producing seven times more harmful greenhouse gas emissions than the equivalent train journey. And yet the Government is talking about cutting Air Passenger Duty to encourage more people onto domestic flights.

The UK Government has led the way in climate commitments, now we want to see it leading the way with climate actions. Today we're calling on the Government to:
* BAN all domestic flights where the equivalent train journey can be completed in under five hours, including London to Edinburgh and Birmingham to Glasgow, with people offered cheaper train tickets instead
* NOT cut Air Passenger Duty in the upcoming Budget
* STOP all plans for airport expansion until 'net zero flights' are a reality
* MAKE airlines label their tickets with comparison train emissions so that people can make informed choices
