Seven years after we first filed a complaint, and after 5 years of legal battles, major dark money group Americans for Job Security has released its donors from 2010 through 2012, and those names are some of the notable donors on the list. Major corporations like Wynn Resorts, Bass Pro Shops and Quicken Loans, and major dark money players like the Wellspring Committee and Crossroads GPS are on the list as well. This is the first major release of dark money donors in the post-Citizens United era, and it is a historic and long overdue victory in the fight against dark money. For more, read CREW’s press release.
Because of supporters like you, we are able to commit to long-term, strategic legal action like this. Although it has taken more than 7 years, we have won a historic victory, setting a new precedent that could require more transparency in the future. Help CREW continue our groundbreaking legal work with a contribution today—your support enables us to devote more resources to the type of long-term, innovative legal and research work that led to today’s victory.
Here at CREW, we’ll never stop fighting dark money, working for comprehensive reform, and standing up for a strong democracy.
Thank you,
Noah Bookbinder
