John,

As the redistricting process plays out in each state, our narrow House majority is already being tested. Here’s what this all means for 2022:

Major Democratic strongholds like California and New York are losing a congressional seat, while rapidly growing, Republican-controlled states like Texas and Florida will gain them.

Republican-led state legislatures have the power to gerrymander the new congressional maps, stamping out predominantly blue districts and packing Democratic voters into less competitive districts.

The short of it is: Before we even head to the ballot box next November, our Democratic majority might already be slimmer than it is today.

Right now, Republicans only need to flip five seats to give Kevin McCarthy the gavel and take back the majority. But after redistricting, that number could be even less as the GOP tries their best to protect their ranks and suppress Democratic votes by rigging the redistricting process.

We have to be prepared for anything and fight back. So John, we’re personally asking you to make a donation to Barbara’s reelection campaign so we have the resources to protect Democrats and defend our majority. Will you chip in today?
