Friend,
Last month marked one year since Kassandra Frederique became DPA’s Executive Director, and we could not be more proud of the historic milestones we’ve achieved under her leadership.
We’ve accomplished so much thanks to Kassandra’s guidance, from standing against police killings and state violence fueled by the drug war to decriminalizing drugs in Oregon to legalizing marijuana in New York and New Mexico – all while responding to the unprecedented drug policy challenges posed by the pandemic.
Now, Kassandra’s got the attention of the New York Times, where she’s featured in the Sunday Routine, a weekly series that profiles newsworthy New Yorkers and how they spend their down time. Read it here.
The article reveals interesting small details that flesh out aspects of Kassandra’s personality that for those of us who know her, come as no surprise – she’s thoughtful, introspective, and authentic. And like many good leaders, she has a life that is grounded in friends, family, and community. Which we knew! Plus, she divulges her favorite brunch spots.
It’s a unique opportunity to learn a little more about Kassandra and the energy that fuels the Drug Policy Alliance. Check it out!

Derek Hodel
