Hi friend,

Today is World Mental Health Day, an opportunity to raise awareness of the mental health challenges so many people face in our country and around the world.

Having lost a close family member to suicide in 2019, this is a subject that is near and dear to my heart. I have learned that mental health challenges and suicide prevention are of critical importance to so many in our country. I feel it is critical to use my platform to raise awareness around the growing mental health crisis in this country.

Over the past 18 months, as we faced physical distancing and isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic, it has been especially important to take care of our mental as well as physical health. We need to make sure we are looking out for those around us, as well as taking care of our own needs.

Now more than ever, it is important that you know that you are not alone. I encourage you to utilize the resources available through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention on their website. ([link removed])

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, trained professionals are available to support you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone at 800-273-TALK (8255) or by texting TALK to 741741.

We need to break down the stigmatization of mental health issues and care. I have and will work for a future without shame and without barriers to care, where everyone who needs support can get it. I know that this is possible and I hope that you will join me in this charge. These times may be tough, but we are in this together.

Stay safe and healthy,
Susan

Susan Wild represents Pennsylvania's 7th District in Congress. She believes we can grow overall economic prosperity while still caring for the vulnerable members of our community. And she knows, now more than ever, it's working-class families that deserve a break in this economy — not big city billionaires and wealthy corporations.

But she needs your support today -- her campaign runs on grassroots donations since she's not taking a dime of corporate PAC money. If you can, consider giving anything you can to her campaign today. >> ([link removed])
