Here’s another reason why we need to win AG races at the state level now.
Friend,
QUESTION: Do you know what these people all have in common?
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley
Former US Attorney General Jeff Sessions
Texas Governor Greg Abbott
Trump Super PAC Chair Pam Bondi
Texas Senator John Cornyn
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster
ANSWER: They are all former Republican AGs who went on to further their extremist agendas at the national level.
This is a critical reason why it’s so important to elect Democratic AGs across the country in 2022: Because Republican state Attorneys General have a proven track record of using the power of their offices to enact extremist conservative agendas and file frivolous lawsuits to stop progress and justice in our communities – and then going on to continue those agendas at the national level.
From Josh Hawley’s support of the January 6th insurrection to Jeff Sessions' cruel immigration agenda, it is difficult to fathom the damage that these pro-Trump, former Republican AGs have done to our most vulnerable communities and to our democracy. The future Josh Hawleys and Jeff Sessions of the world are out there right now in state and local governments.
Jason Miyares in Virginia is a perfect example of a radical conservative who is hoping to use the Attorney General seat to elevate his conservative agenda and further entrench Trumpism in state government. We can stop these extremist, pro-Trump Republicans by defeating them in AG races across the country.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
