According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, as many as 1 million animal species could face extinction without transformative action to address climate change.

We’ve put together a slideshow highlighting just a few of the magnificent creatures we share this earth with, all of whom are threatened by a warming world.

Check out our colorful Warming and Wildlife slideshow now to meet our 7 featured species:

From the tiny bumblebee to the great African elephant, their stories illustrate just how many different ways climate change can make it harder to survive.

Whether from sea level rise or drought, blistering summers or too-cold winters, most of Earth's living creatures are vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

As humans, we have the unique ability to organize and stand up for species who need our help. And the most effective way to help Earth's creatures is by fighting climate change with everything we've got.

Learn more about the ways climate change is threatening the survival of different species by viewing our Warming and Wildlife slideshow:

P.S. Our fall Membership Drive is underway at EDF! This is a great time to make a donation to fight climate change and protect endangered species, because the Wilson Charitable Trust has offered to match gifts from new members giving at least $35, and all new monthly gifts of $5 or more.

Every $1 you donate will unlock $1 more — and new monthly gifts will be matched for a full 12 months. Make sure you don’t miss out on the chance to double your gift’s power to fight climate change and save the animals featured in our slideshow, and so many more:
