This extremist Republican is within striking distance of winning. Can we remind you of how important this election is and why this Republican can’t win?the stakes
Friend, we’re sending you updates about Virginia’s Attorney General race as often as we get them because the race is that close. But, we want to remind you of the stakes of this election.
Here’s a headline from just a few days ago that shows you what type of AG extremist Republican nominee Jason Miyares would be:
“Herring accuses Miyares of voting against legislation that would impact his family’s business” - Virginia Scope
And when you consider the rest of his agenda, friend, you can tell why it’s so important that we defeat this extremist Republican: Here’s a little bit more about his record:
Miyares opposed Medicaid expansion and put the health care of 500,000 Virginians at risk.
Miyares voted against universal background checks and red flag laws.
Miyares voted against banning “no-knock search warrants,” the police tactic that contributed to the murder of Breonna Taylor.
Miyares voted against marriage equality, discrimination protections, and against adding LGBTQ+ Virginians to our hate crime protections.
Miyares voted to defund Planned Parenthood, voted against the Reproductive Health Protection Act, and voted for many other anti-choice bills.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
