Shortly before our deadline last week, this team reached 10,000 grassroots donations toward our effort to take on and defeat the worst members of the Sedition Caucus in Congress. I just want to say thank you for all you’re doing for this cause, and for our democracy. Trust me, it matters.

We’ve been so focused lately on Lauren Boebert’s scandal factory that people might think we forgot about our other top target, Ron Johnson. (We didn’t.)

Not long ago, Sen. Johnson was caught on tape admitting to a supporter that Biden won the election fair and square. Of course, that’s not what he says on TV or to the media, where he keeps casting doubt on the legitimacy of the 2020 election.

Let’s be clear about something. Ron Johnson’s cynical attacks on our democracy aren’t about winning more votes next year. What he and other members of the Sedition Caucus are doing is planting seeds about election fraud so they have an excuse to overturn future elections, perhaps his own in Wisconsin.

They’re going to keep running the Trump playbook until it works — let’s make sure it never does by defeating people like Ron Johnson thoroughly. Will you chip in to help build our grassroots organizing operation in Wisconsin? [[link removed]]

The news isn’t getting better for Ron Johnson. Local reporters recently discovered that the millionaire senator paid just over $2,000 in state income taxes in 2017, the same year he helped Trump pass massive tax cuts for millionaires and corporations.

It appears Sen. Johnson did some fancy footwork with his accounting that year, perhaps by taking advantage of obscure loopholes in the new tax law.

It’s no wonder why people like Ron Johnson desperately want to hold on to power — even going as far as to undermine the foundations of our democracy in the process. They’ve got a pretty sweet gig going, and they’re not going to let go until someone stops them.
