It's happening, friend: Donald Trump is back in Iowa. This is an urgent moment for our campaign and for our country, and I hope you'll allow me a minute to explain why.

I served in Congress when Trump was president. I had an up-close seat as he obstructed justice and spouted his dangerous and increasingly anti-democratic ideologies. We've seen how much progress our country has made in less than a year since voters sent him and Republicans packing in the 2020 election. With Democratic majorities, our country has finally been able to move forward.

But today, Donald Trump landed in Iowa to kick off his comeback tour – and we know exactly what his game plan is. Step one: protect vulnerable incumbents like my opponent, Sen. Grassley (R-IA) and dismantle Democratic majorities. Step two: take back the White House.

I'm not going to sugarcoat things: Trump returning to our state is incredibly dangerous. He will do everything he can to return Senate control to Republican hands. And he wants to protect his ally, Sen. Grassley – who recently defended Trump's attempts to use the Department of Justice to overturn the 2020 election results. 

It's up to grassroots teams like ours to fight back and ensure that Trump and the Republicans don't regain control of the Senate. But we need grassroots resources to do it.
