Donald Trump touched down in Iowa today to rally his base and make an appearance with his number one fan -- our far-right opponent Governor Kim Reynolds.
What we don't need right now are our elected leaders instigating dangerous and violent behavior and a greater lack of civility. But that's what we're going to get. Iowans deserve better.
As governor, Ras will be focused on dialing down the hate and fear that have made death threats at school board meetings a common occurrence. He will continue doing the hard work of bringing together leaders -- regardless of party -- to find solutions to critical Iowa issues -- like ensuring we have clean drinking water, supporting our educators and students, and creating good paying jobs.
Instead of making the lives of Iowans better, Kim Reynolds is wasting time auditioning to be Donald Trump's running mate in 2024. She should be ashamed.
The choice is clear. We need to replace Kim Reynolds with Ras Smith.
