Tell General Motors, UPS, American Airlines & more:
Major companies like General Motors, UPS, and American Airlines are once again financially supporting members of Congress via their corporate PACs who—by peddling Donald Trump’s lies and refusing to certify the 2020 election—incited the insurrection at our Capitol.
They’re hoping that everyday Americans won’t notice, which is why we must shine a spotlight on and demand better from them. We urge these corporate PACs to immediately cease all contributions to traitorous GOP lawmakers—and recommit to putting our democracy before their partisan political interests.

John,
Our Social Security system has survived for nearly a century because it is a simple, universal program. Everybody pays in, and everybody gets something out. Wall Street has been waging a campaign to destroy Social Security since it was first enacted, but our democratic system of governance has always protected it.
Unfortunately, the Republican Party has dedicated itself to dismantling democracy itself―and on January 6th, they came terrifyingly close to succeeding. The horrific attack on the U.S. Capitol shook the corporations who fund Republicans to their cores, and many pledged to stop their corporate PACs from funding the politicians who sided with the terrorists who tried to overthrow the government.
Let’s be clear on one thing: Corporate PACs are bad for our democracy and shouldn’t exist. But extremists violently overturning election results is even worse for democracy, and we need to fight them with every tool we have―including using corporate PACs as leverage.
SIGN NOW: Tell corporations like General Motors, UPS, and American Airlines to keep their promises to defund the politicians who support the January 6th insurrectionists!
Less than a year after January 6th, some corporations who pledged to stop funding the inciters have quietly resumed writing their PAC checks. They’re hoping no one notices, so it’s our job to make sure they’re wrong.
We must show them that we’re paying attention and demand that they sever all ties with lawmakers who threatened our democracy. The politicians may be utterly shameless, but corporations will feel the heat.
If Republicans successfully steal the 2024 election―using Trump’s gameplan to mix voter suppression with election subversion, they’ll be utterly unmoored from the popular revolts that prevented George W. Bush from privatizing Social Security, Paul Ryan from ending Medicare as we know it, and Donald Trump from defunding them both. That’s why this is so important.
Sign now: Put pressure on corporations to keep their promise to defund the politicians who incited the January 6th insurrection!
Thanks,
Michael Phelan Social Security Works
