Friend --
Our featured volunteer, Wayne
Turner, is the NC Green Party Treasurer and has served as our State
Cochair as well as in many other invaluable capacities. Wayne is also
one of the main coordinators of our Thursday political education
series. This week, Wayne has been representing the NC Green Party at
our booth at the Carolina Classic Fair in Winston-Salem (continuing
through Sunday) and is now volunteering at our tent booth at the
Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival (through Sunday). These booths are
often fairly expensive for a growing grassroots party. However, these
are some of the few venues where we can reach lots of people every day
in a relatively safe and less stressful way, in particular during the
ongoing pandemic. A lot of preparation and materials go into having a
successful booth and we need your support to continue to have
them!
Because many anticipated events and
festivals have been canceled due to the pandemic, it is extremely
important that we have your support, at whatever level you can give,
so that we can collect the necessary 19,000 pre-certified signatures
to get back on the ballot! More funds means that NC Green Party can
afford to contact and activate more supporters and volunteers, some of
whom we can help to compensate. More funds afford to do mailers and
other critical tasks to reach out to recently registered Greens and
potential new members.
In recent years, there has been an unprecedented coordinated
assault on ballot access for independent parties in candidates across
the nation - in particular on Greens - in states such as New York,
Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and elsewhere. Neither of the two
Wall Street parties want us to bring our message of ending the war on
drugs and the poor at home and senseless wars for profit abroad, a
comprehensive national health service, and systemic transformation -
positions that threaten the dominance of their corporate donors and
bosses. This is why it is so important to ignore the present
detractors and attacks on our message disguised as pragmatism and
support our platform for political independence today!
Help us to pay for the event tables
and supplies like the ones we have had at Shakori Hills Festival,
National Folk Festivals, etc, by becoming an official NCGP Dues Paying
Member or one-time donor. Your support is absolutely critical for us
to plan and to reach out to volunteers - please do not wait until
tomorrow.
We also need as many NCGP
supporters as possible to help us as volunteer petitioners! If
everyone who reads this email submits only a few signatures, we would
likely qualify to run candidates on the ballot in a short time! Do you
have time to collect more signatures or just a few signatures each
week? Just spending an hour or less a week, most every week could
absolutely be the difference in whether we make it on the ballot in
2022 or not! We have literally seen state parties and candidates
denied ballot access due to a few hundred signatures being challenged
by major parties and elections bureaucrats. By the way, if you are
interested in modest compensation, please contact us about the
possibility of being paid $1 a signature or working 3-6 hours a week
on campuses for a steady rate at [email protected].
Where can I help NCGP to get petition
signatures? You can typically
go to public properties such as parks, street corners with a lot of
foot traffic, campuses, especially during lunch and dinner rush, some
farmer’s markets, etc. Please print several sheets (at least 20)
because as they are about to sign you need to have them sign on the
right - only one county per page written at the top and single-sided
please. Visit our petition landing
page and print out several
petitions from this link all original petition signatures with a
cover sheet/note with your basic contact information as soon as
possible to:
NCGP Petition Drive

Please support our friend and
mentor, Wayne Turner, and our entire party in any way you can by
joining, donating and/or pledging here to collect signatures
today!

Solidarity,
