Hello GGJ family!
Our relatives and fellow GGJ member leaders from the Indiegnous Environmental Network are calling for a historic protest in Washington D.C. next week. GGJ will be there to stand in solidarity with IEN and other frontline leaders from across Turtle Island in demanding President Biden act
now to stop fossil fuel projects. Join us!
We already know the urgency of the crisis we are facing, especially in our communities where we are hit first and worst. The water we drink, the air we breathe, the food we eat, our communities and the places we love are all at stake. We must rapidly shift away from dangerous fossil fuels, to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, and create a healthy and just economy that works for everyone. Despite all of the powerful frontline actions of land and water defenders over the last several months, and the outpouring of support from millions of people and the world's leading scientists, President Biden hasn't stopped dangerous fossil
fuel projects like the Line 3 pipeline, and has continued to issue permits for thousands of new oil and gas wells. Join the week of civil disobedience from October 11-15 to demand an end to fossil fuels. Our frontline allies are issuing a call to President Biden and his administration to demand an end to fossil fuels. Sign up today to join this historic action. This action is also timed at a key moment when all of congress will be debating the infrastructure bill and whether
the next 10 years of climate investments will include subsidies for fossil fuels, natural gas, and a whole range of false solutions.
Join us in DC! There will be training in civil disobedience tactics every night and roles throughout the week for those directly engaging in civil disobedience, as well as many who will come in support roles throughout the actions. Join us in the streets if you can—and please follow and amplify if you are following remotely.
If you will be at the action from October 11-12, email ramon@ggjalliance to let us know.
